Bakery Stool

Some might see a stool; others might see two doughy buns melting into one another. We’ve always been fascinated with the systems and processes that bubble and percolate in kitchens, and so stepping into Hackney’s E5 Bakery gave us the material we needed to create this stool. Celebrating the prosaic and rustic nature of baking - the welding together of a few simple ingredients - we designed the Bakery Stool, which similarly brings two elements (reclaimed oak legs and a patinated steel seat) together, connected by a visible blade joint. Much like the marks and ruptures found on freshly baked loaves, the stool’s deliberately unconcealed joint tells you exactly how it’s been made.
