Fox Ladder
The internal courtyards of this labyrinthian London house proved to be way too tempting to the local foxes. They would jump down from the roof, through the branches of the tree, and then not be able to climb back out again. Make-shift ramps and bridges weren’t going to cut it for them, so instead we designed this stairway to assist their escape.
The terracotta roof tiles used across the facade of the building are referenced in the wavy profile of the Margent Farm hemp panels, which perch atop of three patinated copper tubes. The panels are pinched by beautiful stainless wing nuts, in order to easily replace them in time.
A multi-species collaboration: you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.
