Marilyn: The Exhibition
London is host to a vast number of temporary events, performances and exhibitions every year. This constant churn results in a huge amount of waste which often ends up in landfill.
We worked with architecture practice Studio Shaw to detail and manufacture this 1100m2 exhibition
The wall panels have an exposed softwood frame inspired by photographs of 1950’s Hollywood film sets and are clad using pinned (not glued) HONEXT®, a carbon negative board made from 100% waste.
The sizes of all new walls are set out to standard 2440mm x 1220mm sheet sizes. This massively reduces waste, speeds up fabrication and greatly increases the chances of the boards being reused.
The exhibition will run for 4 months before being disassembled, with the materials being donated to new projects or reused in our own.
