Common Knowledge
The furniture and lighting design for Common Knowledge aimed to bring colour and texture to an existing ex-industrial building in the heart of Shoreditch, London. We worked closely with the architects THISS Studio and the client to imagine how people would occupy, observe and interact in the space, and how our material choices and details could enhance or highlight these moments. This project needed to accommodate a flexible workspace, meeting room, waiting room and recording studio. In collaboration with THISS Studio we designed demountable furniture and lighting that could adapt and move with Common Knowledge without feeling temporary. Designing in modular, extendable and retractable components allowed the furnishings to fit within the buildings existing architecture without being exclusive to it.
