Staple Chair

You slide open a fresh box of staples and observe how they neatly stack, perfect bends nestled together as one. Our Staple Chair pleasingly marries the dual meanings of the word. It is to be used, needed or enjoyed constantly, usually by many individuals. Chaotically sprawling across your dining area before being neatly stacked away.

We weld the frame and hand-paint it. It has a loose feeling and it resembles the way scaffolders paint their poles so they can identify them in a crowd. Like a sheep with a spray painted dot. It’s a conscious act to hand paint; the hope is that when the frame inevitably wears with use that the owner feels confident to paint it back, with new colours of their choice.

The Staple Chair was first seen at The Localist Cafe, an exhibition curated by Six Dots Design at Shoreditch Arts Club for London Design Festival 2023.
